Niño in Tanauan, Leyte said of the DSWD facility which marked its 12th year anniversary last February 14 of this year.

In said occasion saw the launching of a nine – month computer literacy program for the so – called 62 so-called “Children-In-Conflict-with-Law” (CICL) of this center.   They are lucky enough to have the said opportunity, courtesy of the local government unit of Tanauan.

“You might think you have been forgotten by society,” Tanauan Mayor Agapito Pagayanan, Jr. said in same affair. The local chief executive said he was impressed by what the RRCY has been doing, for the good of these young people.

Pagayanan revealed that since year 2008, the municipal government has been extending computer literacy education to high school drop-outs and disadvantaged women in the communities. He stated – “why not go beyond, and have an extension of our Community E-Center Computer Program, exclusively for CICLs ! “

On the other hand, DSWD Field Office Eight Regional Director, Remia Tapispisan told the minors of the Center, in the anniversary program where she also delivered a message, to “let your stay be a memorable one. Let this be a home, a school, a real family for you.”

Further, the DSWD regional chief pointed out that their stay is just like a break or vacation, that will teach them good lessons in life. She then asked the minors to heed to advices, as they are being prepared to be mainstreamed to normal lives, while they are at the center.
