Based on PAGASA reports, Tropical Depression Domeng will cause moderate to heavy rainfall over Eastern Visayas. As of 10:00 am today, Domeng was estimated at 805 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph.

DSWD has already set aside prepositioned food and non-food items as a preparedness measure for this weather disturbance.

As of June 1, 2018, these include 15,715 family food packs, 3,607 sacks of 50kg NFA Rice, 2,806 canned packs containing 4 corned beef and 4 beef loaf tins, 6,544 150g beef loaf tins, 141,216 100g beef loaf tins, 100g 39,888 meat loaf tins, 164,952 100g corned beef tins and 812 pcs. twin-pack coffee.

DSWD has also stockpiled non-food items, including 25,159 blankets, 668 mosquito nets and 15,528 malongs.

These relief goods are readily available for distribution upon the request of local government units (LGUs).

Currently, Social Welfare and Development Teams have been alerted and are coordinating with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers at the LGU level to monitor the weather disturbance.

Also, to prepare for further disasters, DSWD, together with partner agencies such as DOH, DILG, OCD, DOST, DENR, PAGASA, held a disaster response committee meeting to discuss the final vetting of a disaster response plan.
