As the NCDDP draws to an end, the DSWD Kalahi CIDSS Region 8 conducted its expanded Regional Program Management Office Direction Setting and Recalibration Workshop from March 20-21, 2019 at Ocean View Hotel, Tolosa City.

In the two-day activity aims to have the Area Coordinating Teams of 23 LGU-led municipalities restrategized and recalibrated their action plans to accomplish the sub-projects and all the deliverables taking into consideration the challenges like late download of community grants.

Deputy Regional Program Manager Gerardo Peneda presented the 2019 program thrusts and directives. He stressed out two major directions of the program; its closing and CDD Institutionalization as emphasized in the strategic priorities.

In her welcome address, Regional Program Coordinator Natividad Sequito encouraged each staff to perform better and work closely on the ground with partner Local Government Units and Municipal Inter-Agency Committees in strengthening their support to CDD.

Moreover, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Marcela Lim asserted in her keynote speech to continue helping improve the well-being of poor, vulnerable and marginalized sectors of the communities through being committed as development workers.

Over-all, 210 sub-projects in 23 LGU-led municipalities in Eastern Visayas yet to be implemented. Out of these sub-projects,  76 are Basic Access Infrastructure, 23 are Basic Social Services, 83 are Environmental Protection and Conservation, 3 are Community Production, Economic Support and Common Service, 2 are Skills Training and Capability Building Sub-projects and 19 are Disaster Response/Rescue Equipment and Tools and 4 are Livelihood and Enterprises.
