The DSWD Field Office VIII and the Provincial Government of Northern Samar signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Listahanan Data Sharing, yesterday, June 17, 2019 at the Provincial Office in Catarman, Northern Samar. This was   represented by DSWD OIC- Regional Director Yvonne Serrano-Abonales and Provincial Governor Jose Ong, Jr.

The MOA is a major requisite for the Listahanan Data Sharing with stakeholders and partners who seek to have a list of Poor Households captured by the Listahanan Database Information System.

OIC-Regional Director Yvonne Serrano – Abonales pointed out during the activity that the purpose of the data sharing is to accurately and objectively identify poor and vulnerable beneficiaries of the Provincial Government’s poverty reduction programs/projects, as well as to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of resources.

Likewise, the availability of the data can help them to develop programs and strategies to address poverty and improve the welfare of the poor in the province.

The activity was witnessed by Jenny Darish, the Provincial Social Welfare Development Officer and Data Protection Officer of Northern Samar, Carol Gerilla, OIC- Division Chief of Policy and Plans Division -DSWD FO VIII and Data Protection Officer of Listahanan, among others.

Northern Samar is the first province to enter into MOA signing under Listahanan Program in the region.

Downloading of Database is scheduled on the month of July.
