DSWD Kalahi CIDSS Field Office with five (5) community
groups /Local Government Units will attend the 3rd National
Community Volunteers’ Congress and 5th
National Bayani Ka! Awards anchored on the theme
“Padayon, Kalahi CIDSS in Butuan City , Agusan del Norte on August 12-16, 2019.
This year’s theme is a call to continue the gains of Community-Driven
Development in the local, provincial and national level.
The activity aims to strengthen and expand the knowledge of CDD through our champion communities and stakeholders.
The awardees are LGU Tabontabon in Leyte for the Environment and Protection category, LGU Sulat in Eastern Samar for Improved Local Governance, Womens’ Group and Farmer’s Association of Talalora, Samar for Gender and Development , Concerned Senior Citizens’ Association of Burauen, Leyte for Elderly and Mahagna Water System Beneficiary Association of Abuyog, Leyte for Sustained Community Volunteers Group.
These community groups /Local Government Units are regional awardees recognized during the 5th Regional Bayani Ka! Awards last November 2018 at Leyte Park Hotel, Tacloban City.
The Bayani Ka! Awards is the annual and highest recognition given by the DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS to its exemplary communities and partners whose efforts significantly contributed to promote community-driven development (CDD) approach.
To date, Region VIII has the most number of Community Volunteers all over the nation with 795, 249 who have dedicated their sacrifice and effort in the name of the development.
