As tropical Storm Ursula approaches, signal number 2 has been raised over all provinces in Eastern Visayas.

This holiday season, the Department of Social Welfare and Development is closely monitoring the storm. Staff from the Disaster Response Management Division are now on duty and are alert for any reports from the provinces. Also, the Project Development Officers are now coordinating with the Local Government Units for any updates.

DSWD is also ready with 6,416 family food packs (FFPs), 563 sacks of NFA rice, 5,557 cans of beef loaf, 4,053 cans of corned beef, 144,644 sachets of coffee, 2,000 blankets and 6,029 malongs at its Regional Resource Operations Section, with more on the way as DSWD staff continue to produce these FFPs.

These items are ready for transport and will be distributed when DSWD receives requests for augmentation from the LGUs.
