DSWD Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan today appeals to the agency’s workforce in the region to be mindful of the DSWD’s core values, as the nation celebrates the Civil Service Month this September.

“Let us look at our DSWD values – one of them is Service Excellence. Everytime we have to go through a challenging situation, a problem – the effort that we do to overcome it , regardless of the outcome, success or failure, will help raise us up,” the regional official said.

Director Gopalan also emphasized that “ a job done, that is consistent with our core values of service excellence and integrity, is heroism. It is doing more, going beyond, and consistently facing what the day brings squarely.”

Further, Director Gopalan pointed out that the direction the Civil Service is going is digital. “Let us embrace this and think of ways on how we can be comfortable with it. Go back to your ways of work and see how you can incorporate information systems, she told DSWD employees in the region.
Citing the theme for this year which is “Philippine Civil Service @120: Public Sector in the Age of Digital Transformation”,” she underscored ‘the use of emerging technologies in the pursuit of efficient public service delivery, especially in the context of emergency situations.” #DSWDMayMalasakit
