In line with #MaagapatMapagkalinga, #Mahusay at #Matapat public service delivery, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII is making significant strides in its #DigitalTransformation journey.

This 2025, it takes a leap in its workflow productivity enhancements with the implementation Electronic-Regional Special Order (eRSO), an information system which introduced paperless, digital issuance of Regional Special Order, from drafting to approval by the Office’ approving authority, up to issuance of the approved RSO to the concerned personnel.

In the previous years, printed paper request for issuance of Regional Special Order needed to be sent via courier or be physically submitted from the municipalities and provinces to the Field Office which is prone unintentional loss or damage. With this innovation, issuance of Regional Special Order can be done in minutes, less processing time, minimizes human error, and enhanced transparency.

A key feature of the eRSO is the integration and use of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI) digital signature, a digital certificate system ensuring authenticity, security and reliability of online transactions.

This #paperless innovation, the Electronic-Regional Special Order (eRSO) is a testament to DSWD Field Office VIII’s dedication to leveraging technology for better governance and public service. By embracing digital transformation, the DSWD is not only enhancing its internal operations but also paving the way for a more efficient, responsive, and accessible social protection delivery system for the people of Eastern Visayas.
