DSWD Field Office 8 successfully conducted a Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Protection Training at KANO’s Place, Brgy. 9, Lawaan, Eastern Samar.
A total of 55 participants took part in the three-day capacity-building activity. The attendees included Day Care Workers, Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Officials, MDRRMC Members, MSWDO Staff, and MDRRMO Personnel from the Municipality of Lawaan.
The training aimed to enhance the participants competencies in managing evacuation centers, safeguarding the rights and welfare of displaced families, and improving coordination during emergencies and disasters. Through discussions, workshops, and practical exercises, the participants strengthened their skills in providing safe, organized, and protection-centered humanitarian response.
