Around 120 school heads, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) coordinators, and representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd) Leyte participated in a two-day Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Training held on November 19–20, 2025 in Tacloban City.
The activity aimed to enhance the capacities of school-based personnel in managing evacuation centers, ensuring that DepEd-operated facilities can provide organized, safe, and dignified spaces for displaced families during disasters.
Participants were oriented on evacuation center coordination, camp management standards, protection principles, and the roles of school-based DRRM teams in emergency response.
The training forms part of the continuing partnership between DSWD Field Office VIII and DepEd Leyte to strengthen community preparedness and improve humanitarian response in the region.
