Through Administrative Order No. 15 series of 2015, the Core Group of Specialists has been created and operationalized. 

The CGS creation and operationalization shall help the Department in performing its role in providing technical assistance along with program development, policy formulation, standards review, updating, and all other related actions/decisions involving the sectoral programs.

Taking the lead, especially in fieldwork requires specific skills and competencies that are measured by the Department’s ability to respond to all sectors through efficient and effective performance of its core functions specifically Social Welfare Policy Development and Planning, Social Technology Development, Protective and Promotive Services, Standards Development and Compliance Monitoring, Capability Building Services and Provision of Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation.

During the meeting, the participants were provided with the latest updates especially the establishment of the DSWD Academy and the standard operating procedure for providing resource persons to DSWD intermediaries and stakeholders with Ms. Norilix M. Razalan, Training Specialist III from SWIDB and Mr. Rolando A. Verbo, Jr, Administrative Assistant II/Service Focal as subject matter experts, respectively.

Further, the CGS were informed of the current operations which will improve and strengthen the different collaboration mechanisms of the Knowledge Management System in the Field Office which will result in more responsive technical assistance and service delivery to intermediaries.
