The DSWD Field Office Eight is all set to implement the Expanded Government Internship Program, starting this summer, as it issued today a schedule of the provincial orientations and deliberations for its applicants.

DSWD Field Office Eight Director Leticia Diokno said only single, 18 to 30 years old out-of-school-youth, college/vocational courses graduates who are unemployed, can participate in the 52 – day internship program. If, however, the intern cannot complete the term, he or she will be replaced by another qualified applicant who will work for the remaining days.

Application forms are now available at the DSWD Field Office along Magsaysay Boulevard in Tacloban City. The application forms should be accompanied by a xerox copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.

The youths will have a hand-on experience in working with the DSWD, either in its centers or institutions, at the field office, or at the communities where they come from, to assist the DSWD in the implementation of such projects as Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, Supplemental Feeding, and PANTAWID PAMILYA PILIPINO PROGRAM.

The schedule for the interview and orientation are as follows : April 24 to 25 – for Tacloban and Leyte, second floor, Prudential Bank building, infront of Old Gaisono; April 25 – Southern Leyte, at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in Maasin; April 27 – Eastern Samar, at the Operations Office of the PANTAWID PAMILYA at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Borongan; April 27 – Biliran, at the Provincial Capitol Building in Naval; April 26 – Samar, at the PANTWAID PAMILA Provincial Operations Office, Moratar Building, San Francisco St., Catbalogan; and April 30 – Northern Samar, at the Cluster Office of PANTAWID PAMILYA in Catarman.
