Participants of the basic orientation training during a workshop on the roles of ACT in Kalahi-CIDSS implementation.The Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) held a basic orientation for Area Coordinating Teams (ACTs) of random municipalities on August 28-September 2 at the Leyte Park Resort Hotel, Tacloban City.

The basic orientation was attended by the Area Coordinators (ACs), Deputy Area Coordinators (DACs), and Community Facilitators (CFs) of the municipalities of Matag-ob, Babatngon, and Abuyog, Leyte for the first batch. The second batch of the orientation will include the municipalities of Alang-alang, Barugo, Burauen, Hindang, Tanauan, Dolores, General MacArthur, Llorente, Bobon, Catarman, Lope de Vega, and Lavezares.

These random municipalites were chosen last year using the “tambiolo” process.

Discussed in the orientation were the different stages of the Kalahi-CIDSS implementation: from the social preparatio stage up to the managing implementation at the ACT level.

The participants were also briefed on the major activities that would be undertaken along the project implementation like the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum, Project Planning and Development, Municipal Inter-Agency Committee (MIAC) Technical Review of Community Project Proposals, sub-project implementation, mobilizing communities, and managing transitions.

Kalahi-CIDSS is a government project spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). It uses the CDD approach, and it aims to empower the community, improve local governance and reduce poverty.
