JR, a 21-year-old Barangay Sub-Project Management Committee Chair of Guindapunan, Javier confidently provides technical details of their Kalahi-CIDSS rehab project to National Program Manager Chi Redaja during her recent visit in Leyte last week.
Said rehabilitation project, which is funded by Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR), is a repair of Level II Gravity Fed Water System destroyed by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
“Sa layo ng barangay namin, bihira lang ang may pumunta dito”, this was a statement from an old community member of the said upland barangay.
But now with Kalahi-CIDSS’ rehabilitation project being implemented, 45 families will no longer struggle for a clean water.
