DSWDFO VIII-Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) through Reg’l Director Resty Macuto does the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with OXFAM Great Britain through Program Manager Roy Soledad, represented by DeputyProgram Manager Catherine Gordo for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for Eastern Samar.
According to Guiuan SLP-Program Development Officer Christopher Fabi, identified associations of MCCT and Pantawid beneficiaries will be building hollow blocks and toilet bowls to meet the needs of households in Eastern Samar. They will be suppliers/traders and service providers of WASH goods and services.
SLP External Relations Officer Noel Villones in his closing message said that there is a market for such businesses, hence, the project will be beneficial to identified beneficiaries and the people of Eastern Samar.
Regional Director Macuto expressed gladness over the partnership as he mentioned that there are many Pantawid beneficiaries who still do not have comfort rooms. Many, indeed, will be benefited, he said.
DSWD-SLP aims to improve socio-economic capacities of 4Ps beneficiaries by facilitating their access to micro-enterprise development and employment opportunities.
