“Remember that great nation today becomes great not because of what government did for people but because of what people did for themselves and for one another.”, DSWD Regional Director Restituo Macuto was quoted in his speech during the graduation rites of 37 drug surrenderers who completed the training on the Community-based Rehabilitation Program. The culmination of LGU-Tanauan-sponsored training was held today, March 7, 2017 at the Bishop’s Palace, Palo, Leyte .

The said graduates had undergone 8 modules for 8 weeks. Part of the set includes Family Counseling and Pray Healing which made the rehabilitation process easily digested by the surrenderers.

DSWD’s way of supporting their new beginnings is by way of financial assistance while awaiting for their livelihood. Director Macuto assured them of help from any of DSWD’s programs and services.

In this celebration of life’s second chances, everyone is encouraged to continue inspiring and show the true spirit of a good citizen and as a nation, everyone must help those who stumble and fall, said by Dir. Macuto. #DSWDMayMalasakit
