DSWD Field Office VIII Regional Director Restituto Macuto shared that some Philippine State Universities and Colleges (PSUCs) had reported that 1 Expanded Students Grants-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) grantee graduated as Magna Cum Laude and 23 more as Cum Laude, during today’s Regional Steering Committee Meeting for ESGP-PA CY 2017.
The graduates are from the households under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Official list of names of the ESGP-PA honors will be released soon.
ESGP-PA is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Budget and Management(DBM), and PSUCs, to help in increasing the number of graduates in higher education among identified poor households and to get these graduates employed in high-value added occupations.
