t is now three weeks since a team from the DSWD started its validation of poor households in the region. This was disclosed by Carol Gerilla, head of the Planning Unit of the DSWD Field Office VIII during the latest episode of the agency’s “Kasugong ha Pagtindog” radio program over DYVL-AM station, held every Friday, from 9 : 30 a.m. to 10 : 30 a.m.
The move is in preparation for the implementation of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Program for house
Like beneficiaries of the DSWD’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Social Pension, each household will be entitled a grant of Php200 monthly or Php2,400.00 for the whole year. DSWD Regional Director Restituto Macuto explained that the UCT is a tax mitigating reform program under the TRAIN Law, and while these poor households may not benefit from the lower income tax rates, they may be adversely affected by rising prices.# #DSWDMayMalasakit #DSWDParaSaNakakarami
