“Dati, hindi ako humaharap sa ibang tao. Itinatago ko itong mga kamay ko. Pero dahil nakasali na ako sa Kalahi-CIDSS, nareporma na ang sarili ko.”
She grew up in a community where most people see the imperfections of others. But Miguela “Ging-ging” Icasama, 51, a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiary of Brgy. Odiong, Javier, Leyte did not allow her disability to beat her dreams. As a member of the Monitoring and Inspection Team of Kalahi-CIDSS, she realized that she is capable of taking part in participatory governance and performing responsibilities for her community. Sub-Project Management Committee volunteers of Odiong will implement two rehab-projects under the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) and National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP); the Rehabilitation of Street Lights (PhP 553, 165.00) and Construction of Drainage Canal (PhP 993, 344.00).
