Director Remia Tapispisan (middle) is all smiles as she listens to the talk of Undersecretary Camilo Gudmalin (left), before Director Leticia Diokno (right) turns over the key of responsibility to her.In a recent turn-over ceremony of the incoming Regional Director for DSWD Field Office Eight, DSWD Undersecretary Camilo Gudmalin put emphasis on the rationale behind the re-shuffling of almost all Regional Directors of the Department in the entire country.

Gudmalin administered the installation of Director Remia Tapispisan held at the Leyte Park Resort Hotel in Tacloban City, being the Coach Monitor for Visayas and Mindanao regions. Tapispisan, who hails from Iloilo, was previously the Regional Director in the Bicol region.

“We’re confident that the movement will provide fresher perspectives in dealing with challenges. Business as usual is no longer applicable; we have to be more innovative,” he further pointed out.

The visiting official told former Regional Director, Leticia Diokno, who has Region IV – A as her new assignment, that her new region “is the queen of Region Eight. You will be at home !”   What he meant was that CALABARZON region has a lot of commonalities with Region Eight.

On the other hand, Tapispisan thanked key officials of the Field Office Eight present for the “warmth, giving me a good feeling inside.” The incoming Director also expressed that “even if I am single, I respect your family because for me, family comes first.” Earlier, she said, “ that what I can offer is my time, 24 and seven. “

Lastly, Tapispisan said, “ I am in my last leg of my career, and home for me is Region Eight. I will take care of your region. That’s a promise.
