Kalahi-CIDSS sub-projects that were turn-over were a newly constructed 500 linear meter drainage canal in Barangay Mac Arthur and a .767 kilometer farm to market road in Barangay Balingasag of the said town.

In his message, ARD Ramos congratulated the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tabontabon and the communities for the completion of the sub-projects.

“Let it be a reminder to everyone here, that no government project will be successful without the support of the LGU and the people in the community”, Ramos said.

Ramos also mentioned other Social Protection Programs of the department that are being implemented in these barangays like the Pantawid Pamilya and the Supplemental Feeding.

“Pantawid Pamilya is not a dole-out project. There are certain conditions set that must be met by the beneficiaries. The money should not be used for other purposes except for the child’s education and health,” Ramos added.

Tabontabon Mayor Priscila Justimbaste expressed her gratitude for being a recipient of the Kalahi-CIDSS project, and encouraged the barangay constituents to maintain and take care of the completed sub-projects.

The said sub-projects that were turned-over were identified and prioritized by the people in the community according to their most pressing needs.

Kalahi-CIDSS is a community-driven development (CDD) project of the government of the Philippines spearheaded by DSWD. It aims to improve local governance, empower the community and reduce poverty.
