Three parties, namely: the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Tacloban Doctor’s Medical Center enter a Memorandum of Agreement for partnership to cater quality health service to the beneficiaries of PantawidPamilyang Pilipino Program (PantawidPamilya) of Leyte province which was witnessed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last August 1, 2012 at The Oriental Hotels and Resorts, Palo Leyte.
This convergence partnership is focused on the improvement of health care delivery for indigent Philhealth members in Region 8 which is initially be implemented in the province of Leyte for this year. It will provide specialized health care services without “out-of –pocket expenses” on the part of identified Sponsored Program members of PhilHealth which are taken from the database of the PantawidPamilya of the DSWD. It highlights the provision of Bilateral Tubal Ligation and Caesarean Section Operation to identified PantawidPamilya Beneficiaries under the NO BALANCE SCHEME.
The said event was graced by important persons fromCenters for Health Development,Assistant Secretary Pauline Jean Ubial,Regional Director Jaime Bernadas and Dr. Paula Sydiongco. From PhilHealth are Mr.AciscloMilitante and Atty. Alfredo Uy. From Tacloban Doctors are Dr. Ignacio Valeriano, Dr.FlorentinoMerin and Dr.FrededrickSison. The DSWD was represented by the PantawidPamilya Provincial Link, Ms. Paula Unay.
The said event was successfully conducted by the University of the Philippines Visayas Foundation Incorporated (UPVFI).
