Tacloban, on its way to recovery – Sec. Dinky

Tacloban City – It is slowly becoming “business as usual” in the city, according to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman.

Secretary Soliman, who has not left the Visayas since day one of the disaster operations on November 8, observed that some big grocery stores, bakeries, water refilling and gasoline stations, hardware, vulcanizing shops, and banks have already resumed operations.

Lola in Tolosa, recipient of millionth DSWD relief pack

Tolosa, Leyte – Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman announced that the one millionth food pack distributed by the Department went to a 76-year old grandmother here, on the 14th day of the relief operations following Typhoon Yolanda.

Tolosa Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Erlinda J. Sabino identified the recipient as Adela Novio.

Secretary Soliman appeals to Luzon LGUs to support ‘Yolanda’ victims

“We appeal to our local government units in Metro Manila and nearby provinces in Luzon to join us in continuously helping the affected families of Typhoon Yolanda as they temporarily leave Eastern Visayas,” Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman said.
