RJJWC makes first visit to minors in Tacloban City Jail

Since its organization on July 30, 2015, the Regional Juvenile Justice Welfare Council (RJJWC) Tuesday, December 8, 2015 finally made its first visit to the Tacloban City Jail where reported are seven minors detained.

Residents of Region Eight’s biggest bunkhouse transfer to permanent homes

To date, two hundred twelve (212) families from the International Pharmaceuticals, Inc (IPI) bunkhouse, the biggest temporary shelter in Region Eight, have already transferred to new homes in Ridgeview Park 1, in one of the northern barangays of Tacloban City.

As part of its support to the Tacloban City government and to the bunkhouse residents (all Yolanda survivors), DSWD Field Office Eight gave out ‘pabaon’ packs to the transferring populace,

Fisherman’s son named as National Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Child

Overflowing in confidence despite his small frame, 11-year-old Jake Lere Boyles, a fisherman’s son, was the image of success during the Araw ng Kabataan celebration last November 21.

Jake bested 16 children from the different regions nationwide when he was named as the national winner of the Search for Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Child.
