Ang DSWD Field Office VIII kamakailan ay nagsagawa ng unang Consultative Meeting para sa taong 2017 kasama ang iba’t ibang Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) sa Hotel Alejandro, Tacloban City. Ito ay upang pagbutihin at palawakin ang pakikipagtulungan sa pagpapatupad ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Mayorga community volunteer wins 2nd Kamurayaw Songwriting Competition

Nazel Kalaque, a Kalahi-CIDSS community volunteer from Brgy. Talisay, Mayorga, Leyte conquered the 2nd Kamurayaw Songwriting Competition as he was awarded Grand Champion for his original song composition entitled KAPAWA (Light).

DSWD Kalahi-CIDSS supports ‘ZOD campaign’ with WASH project

Brgy. Tagnao is one of the 34 barangays in Gandara, Samar infected with Schistosomiasis. Said disease is caused by parasitic worms due to exposure to infested water.

According to the Local Government Unit of Gandara, Schistosomiasis is prevalent in the municipality due to  poor sanitation and lack of basic toilet facilities.
