President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., together with DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian leads the distribution of assistance to 8,930 farmers, fisherfolk, and their families in the Province of Samar today, July 4, 2024, at the Northwest Samar State University in Calbayog City.
Each beneficiary received PHP10,000.00 through the 𝐀𝐲𝐮𝐝𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (AKAP) in accordance with Special Provision No. 3, DSWD Budget of General Appropriations Act of 2024.

DSWD Eastern Visayas released Livelihood Assistance to Tigbao 4Ps Association today, July 4, 2024, during the LAB4ALL Ceremony led by Her Excellency, First Lady Liza Araneta MArcos at the Tacloban City’s People Center and Library.
The association received a total of PHP400,000 as capital fund from the Sustainable Livelihood Program for their business enterprise “rental of Tables and Chairs” in Barangay 49, Tigbao, Tacloban City.

Tara, Basa! Learning Sessions kick off in Samar Province

PALO, Leyte – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII has started the 20-day learning sessions of Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) in Samar Province on Monday, July 01, 2024.
A total of 375 Tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) were deployed across the above-mentioned province to tutor 2,000 enlisted struggling or non-reader school learners and conduct family development sessions for the parents or guardians.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through its Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), is now in the initial planning stage of a new project that will address the impact of climate change.
Dubbed as “Panahon ng Pagkilos,” the community-led climate adaptation project will cater to areas with high poverty incidence, severe climatic hazards, and a significant proportion of indigenous population.
