22 new cases were recorded from June 26 to July 2, 2023 out of 520 laboratory test results. All samples were tested in the four (4) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL), Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center (OMDC) and Salvacion Oppus Yñiguez Memorial Provincial Hospital – Molecular Laboratory (SOYMPHML). This represents an 4.03% positivity rate.

There is no severe and critical case admitted in our hospitals due to COVID-19. Out of 45 ICU beds intended for patients with COVID-19, 2 (4.44%) are occupied. Meanwhile, 19.90% of 1,050 non-ICU COVID-19 beds are currently being used.

With the implementation of less stringent COVID-19 public safety protocols throughout the country, the Department of Health is advising the public to continue observing the Minimum Public Health Standards when among crowds, public spaces, or travelling. Among these are the (1) continued wearing of face mask, (2) isolating oneself when sick, (3) doubling up protection through vaccination, and (4) ensuring proper ventilation when in enclosed spaces.
