What does Christmas mean for you?
What does Christmas mean for you? For some it’s the giving and receiving of gifts; maybe it’s a small toy car, a doll, a handbag, or new clothes. For some it’s the sharing of the food that remind us of home – hotdog-on-a-stick, cotton candy, cheese fries. For some, it’s joy, expressed through laughter and dance. For some, it’s the childlike wonder and the hope that things will get better. And for the residents of DSWD Field Office 8 Centers and Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs), it’s all of these. DSWD Staff and CRCF residents recently came together to celebrate the holidays through the 2024 Year-End Celebration. During the event, both staff and residents displayed the Christmas spirit as they actively participated in various games, showed off their talents in intermission numbers, and ate together. Residents were able experience childhood again as they were entertained by magic and dancing mascots. The event was capped with the giving of gifts, which was led by DSWD FO8 Director Grace Subong and Santa Claus himself. With each gift given, the residents’ faces lit up as they brightened with the biggest smiles. As we continue to celebrate the holidays, the CRCFs remind us to take a moment to appreciate all the gifts and the blessings we have been given this year. Merry Christmas, from DSWD FO8 CRCFs! #BawatBuhayMahalagaSaDSWD
