DSWD FO8 CECs Conduct Commodity Price Retrieval for Walang Gutom Program

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8 recently deployed Community Engagement Coordinators (CECs) from the Walang Gutom Program (WGP) to retrieve local market prices to help WGP Partner Merchants set fair and competitive prices.

Surveying three key markets in three selected municipalities per province, the collected data ensures that distributed goods remain within prevailing regional prices.

DSWD Registered Social Workers convene at the Social Workers’ Development Conference

Over 200 DSWD Registered Social Workers convened for the first-ever Social Workers’ Development Conference in the region at the Leyte Academic Center, Palo, Leyte.

The activity was initiated by the DSWD Field Office 8 through its Association of the DSWD Social Workers Inc. (ADSWI) presided by Division Chief Paula Unay, in celebration of the International Social Work Week anchored on the theme, “Strengthening International Solidarity for enduring Wellbeing.”

Tara, Basa! beneficiaries in Region 8 join community assemblies

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas has begun the series of community assemblies as part of the social preparation activities for this year’s expansion of Tara, Basa Tutoring Program (TBTP).
