Kabilang ang mga activities na ito sa flagship program ng administrasyon laban sa inboluntaryong gutom at malnutrisyon dulot ng mababang kita. Matapos ang verification activities, inaaasahan na makatatanggap ng P3,000 food credits ang mga benepisyaryo na maaaring gamitin sa pagbili ng pagkain sa DSWD-accredited retailers sa araw ng Redemption. Lahat naman ng mga benepisyaryo ay kailangang dumalo sa mga Nutrition Education Sessions na isa sa mga conditionalities ng programa. DSWD Project LAWA at BINHI beneficiaries, Nakapag-ani na!
Aabot sa 85 kilo ng mani ang matagumpay na naani ng mga benepisyaryo ng Project LAWA at BINHI sa Maslog, Eastern Samar, noong Disyembre 4. Matatandaang sinimulan ang proyekto noong Mayo, na may layuning bigyan ng kaalaman at malinang ang kakayahan ng mga residente upang masuportahan ang kanilang mga sarili at pamilya. DSWD FO8 awards LGUs, LSWDOs on the 1st Older Persons Progarm Stakeholders’ Congress 2024
The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8-Eastern Visayas awarded all 143 Local Government Units (LGUs) through their Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) in the region during the 1st Older Persons (OPs) Program Stakeholders’ Congress 2024 last November 26, 2024 at the Leyte Convention Complex, Palo, Leyte. In her opening message, DSWD FO 8 Regional Director Grace Q. Subong recognized all the incredible efforts that each of the partner LGUs exemplified alongside the implementation of the department’s older persons programs and services. “Your tireless efforts, dedication, and passion have significantly improved the lives of every senior citizen-beneficiary. Your commitment to public service embodies the values of excellence, integrity, and compassion that we, as public servants, continuously strive to uphold.” The OPs Program Stakeholders’ Congress 2024 aimed to give awards and recognition to the LGUs through their LSWDOs, which exemplified the Maagap at Mapagkalingang Serbisyo amidst all the challenges faced in the implementation of the Social Pension Program and Centenarian Program for the 1st semester of CY 2024. The awards and recognition given are categorized into the following categories in reference with the signed Memorandum of Agreement between the LGUs and the DSWD FO VIII for the 1st semester implementation: 1. LGUs Compliant with the Submission of Liquidation Report for the 1st Semester of 2024 with 18 LGU-awardees; 2. LGUs Compliant on the Submission of Paid Registry Report for the 1st Semester of 2024 with 6 LGU-awardees; 3. LGUs with the highest number of paid beneficiaries per province for the 1st semester of 2024 with 6 LGU-awardees; 4. LGUs Compliant with the Frequency of Payout for the 1st Semester of 2024 with all 143 LGU-awardees; 5. Centenarian Program Award with 53 LGU-awardees; and 6. Finalists of the Older Persons Program Knowledge Management Summit 2024 with 10 LGU awardees. Further, the Social Pension Program has greatly achieved milestones and successes that have impacted the well-being of all the 289,762 beneficiaries in the region who received a P1,000.00 stipend for the first 6 months of the year. Meanwhile, a total of 56 centenarians were also awarded with P100,000.00 cash gift as of November 26, 2024. Nagbigay ng tulong ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8 sa 24 na pamilya at isang indibidwal na apektado ng sunog sa Brgy. 80, Marasbaras, Tacloban City noong Nobyembre 26, 2024. Aabot sa 49 family food packs (FFPs), dalawa para sa bawat pamilya at isa para sa indibidwal na apektado at 147 non-food items na binubuo ng hygiene kits, family kits, sleeping kits, kitchen kits at bottled water ang ibinahagi ng ahensya. Bukod dito, nagbigay din ng cash assistance, sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) na P10,000 at P5,000 para sa 10 pamilyang may partially damaged houses, batay sa balidasyon. DSWD Field Office 8 shows support for PLHIV rights on World AIDS Day 2024
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, on Monday, December 2, 2024, showed support for the rights of people living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (PLHIV) and their families during World AIDS Day 2024. As part of the campaign, employees wore red ribbons to show their commitment to ending the stigma against HIV. The observance includes a free and confidential HIV screening for employees and a parent effectiveness session. DSWD WGP VALIDATION EFFORTS EXPAND IN REGION 8 AS REGISTRATION HITS 24,000 MARK
Ongoing verification and validation efforts in various municipalities in Eastern Visayas have significantly increased the number of beneficiaries eligible for the Walang Gutom Program, the government’s flagship program against involuntary hunger. As of the latest update, the total number of beneficiaries has risen to 24,149, marking a notable milestone in the full-scale rollout of the program in the region. Over 900 new beneficiaries were registered in the municipalities of Oras, San Policarpio, and Jipapad in Eastern Samar province, in the most recent validation activities. Our validators also utilized the Walang Gutom Indicator (WaGI) tool in determining the eligibility of beneficiaries in the municipalities of Liloan, San Juan, and Silago in Southern Leyte. Beneficiary numbers also increased in the City of Baybay in Leyte, municipalities of Mapanas and San Roque in Northern Samar, as well as in Palompon, Leyte, and Tagapul-an in Samar. DSWD FO8 Nagsagawa ng Nutrition Education Sessions sa iba’t-ibang munisipalidad sa rehiyon
TINGNAN: Dagdag impormasyon sa mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo ng Walang Gutom Program sa Region 8 ang ginanap na mga Nutrition Education Session (NES) sa iba’t-ibang munisipalidad sa rehiyon! Umabot sa 335 na benepisyaryo ang nagtipon-tipon sa mga NES sites sa probinsiya ng Leyte upang talakayin ang Modules 1 at 2. Samantala, ginanap din ang NES sa Capul, Northern Samar, at Naval, Biliran. Layunin nito na mabigyang linaw ang kahalagahan ng tatlong food group sa tamang nutrisyon, at upang gabayan ang mga benepisyaryo ng wastong meal planning.
