Have you been actively participating in youth programs in your community for the last two years or more ?   Here’s a chance for you to join in a cultural exchange program on board a ship that will tour in Southeast Asia !

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is inviting youth leaders, aged 18 to 30 years old, to join the 40th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSYEAP) spearheaded by the National Youth Commission (NYC), with the DSWD as one of the members of the inter-agency for selection process.

Regional Director Remia Tapispisan of the DSWD Field Office Eight encourages members of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) local chapters to take a chance in this enriching opportunity, that is set to start on July 16 of this year, for the pre-departure training.

Qualified to participate in the SSYEAP are youths who are Filipino citizens, preferably first-time international travelers, and must not have been grantees or recipients of any NYC – coordinated international program, for at least two years immediately preceding the application.

Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to travel in the educational cruise, that will take off on October 28 and ends December 16, 2013.

If they should represent the region, the applicants must have resided in the region for at least two years immediately preceding the date of application, if not working or studying. If employed or studying in the region they are representing, they should have worked or studied for at least six months immediately preceding the date of application, in said region.
