Survivors of Typhoon Yolanda, beware of human traffickers !
Do you know that human traffickers are now taking advantage of the situation since you as a victim of disaster is in dire financial need, and there are minors left orphaned ?
Here are the following measures to prevent from being a victim :
For transients or those who travel outside Leyte and Samar, the DSWD is interviewing and profiling transients to ensure that their movements are monitored. Have your name included in the list;
Transients who wish to go back to their home province, the DSWD helps in locating their respective families and would even assist in boarding the vessel and accompany him/her to their point of destination;
For disaster victims in evacuation sites, each one should help one another in being vigilant of any suspected activities. Should there be any, kindly report to the DSWD Field Office 8 at Magsaysay Bouevard in Tacloban City and see Asther Dadula, o email to fo8@dswd.gov.ph, or text to text hotline 0927-592-9416. You can also go to the nearest DSWD booth or help desk set up in evacuation camps/ports/terminals;
Do not be lured by a promise of big money or income, the DSWD and other government agencies have offers for livelihood opportunities;
