The Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services, an empowrment program of the Department of Social Welfare amd Development (DSWD) has recently granted PhP 16, 844,599.00 for the implementation of sub-projects in the municipality of Alangalang, under the National Community-Driven Development (NCDDP) funding.
Prioritization of funds was conducted during the Municipal Inter-Barangay Forum–Participatory Situation Analysis (MIBF-PRA) where 54 barangays presented their proposed community projects to an assembly. After the selection by representatives from each community. done through ballot voting, eight barangays were prioritized.
The said barangays that will be funded for the Cycle 2 NCDDP implementation of Kalahi-CIDSS are as follows: (1) Barangay Veteranos, (2) Brgy San Diego, (3) Brgy. Hinapolon, (4) Brgy. Aslum, (5) Brgy. Tombo, (6) Barangay Ekiran, (7) Barangay Capiz, and (8) Barangay San Francisco East.
Concreting of farm-to-market roads (FMR) rank first in the selection of sub-projects from among the barangays. Brgy. Ekiran will receive the biggest chunk of the grant amounting to Php 3,624,722 for their 0.749-kilometer FMR.
As of today, the Request for Fund Release (RFR) is with the Sub-Regional Program Maagement Office (SRPMO) for the final review of project proposals.
The construction of Kalahi-CIDSS FMRs in Alangalang is expected to improve the agriculture industry of said town as most of its residents’ rely on farming as their major source of income.
