The once Yolanda -devastated Boardwalk at Barangay Looc in Cabucgayan, Biliran is now transformed into a beautiful scenery of mangrove plantation and thriving natural habitat of different marine species.

The DSWD thru its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is greatly instrumental to this project of the local government unit, as it funded a total of Php838, 500.00 for labor,  in the boardwalk rehabilitation, mangrove reforestration, cultivation of a tree nursery, and construction of a multi-purpose center.

Some 105 Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries were made to avail of the DSWD’s Cash-for-Building-Livelihood-Assets (CBLA),  for the former to have a temporary income of Php260.00 a day.  The remaining 110 are non – Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries.

SLP Project Development Officer for the municipality, Warren Briccio, is seen being interviewed by reporter, Ioannes Omang of DYVL Aksyon Radyo of Tacloban, in a recently – organized Media Tour conducted by the DSWD in coordination with the Philippine Information Agency.

The rehabilitation started March of last year and towards November of same year.

Some 15 representatives of different private media outlets of Tacloban and Ormoc, and the P.I.A. were invited to the activity.# #DSWDMayMalasakit
