DSWD Regional Director, Restituto Macuto, with Tacloban Mayor, Cristina Gonzales, happily awards the DSWD cash gift to the lone centenarian in the city. The activity was held at the City Engineer’s Office last month.
A news item shows Policy and Plans Division Chief, Yvonne Abonales, with Ormoc Mayor, Richard Gomez, during a door-to-door delivery of the cash incentive in the city recently.

Finally, the DSWD Field Office Eight have finished its month-long pay – out of cash gift to the first batch of centenarians in the region. Numbering to fifty-five, there were 47 of them who were able to benefit the Php 100, 000.00 incentive from the DSWD.
DSWD Focal Person for Senior Citizens, Asther Dadulla, bared that that eight other centenarians in the list are now deceased, but were, then, living during the approval of the Centenarian Act of September, 2016.
Said Policy and Plans Division Chief, Yvonne Abonales, also of the DSWD Field Office VIII, there are 45 centenarians who are scheduled for pay – out this third quarter. Abonales headed the team in the first pay – out to various cities and municipalities of the region.
DSWD Regional Director, Restituto Macuto, lauded the local government units for giving additional cash incentive, as indicated in the Centenarian Act. He said the government should, indeed, recognize their longevity and the contributions they have made for the good of their families and communities.
Tacloban City Mayor, Cristina Gonzales, meanwhile, pledged Php 50, 000.00 cash incentive to the city’s sole centenarian whom the DSWD awarded the Php100,000.00 cash gift recently. #DSWDMayMalasakit
