The DSWD Field Office VIII Promotive Services Division, led by OIC Chief Natividad Sequito, has started conducting visits and orientations to Sub-Field Offices (SFOs) to tighten coordination and alignment in implementing Promotive programs like Kapit-Bisig Laban Sa Kahirapan –Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) and Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in the provinces.

Topics include the Mandanas ruling and Promotive Division Updates and Status. The highlight of the Mandanas Ruling is the LGUs’ bigger roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the devolved programs and services coming from the national agencies, given the increased Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) share as stipulated in the ruling.

Sub-Field Offices (SFOs) are the operating units or satellite offices of the Field Office VIII in the provinces. Its mandate is to ensure that Department meets its organizational outcomes at the province level, through a well-coordinated and responsive delivery of programs and services appropriate to the identified and emerging needs in the area.

The said visit and orientation is part of the commitment of the Department so that DSWD field staff will effectively provide technical assistance to local government units in delivering quality social welfare programs, especially the implementation of devolved services, for the poor and marginalized communities.
