The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII, through its Community- Based Welfare Section and Capability Building Section, conducted a three-day training on National Early Learning Curriculum and Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting, on August 23-25, 2021 at Tacloban City.
The activity is participated by the selected day care workers and the City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (C/MSWDOs). Discussions include new standards and guidelines for Child Development Center and Early Detection, and Prevention and Intervention of Disability, and among others.
OIC Regional Director Grace Subong, in her message, acknowledged the “child development worker’s crucial role in molding the values and transforming the lives of children”. She commended all the child development workers for their unwavering passion and commitment to uphold children’s rights.
Regional Director Subong ensures that DSWD is always ready to support the LGUs and CDWs.
Further, the activity is part of the department’s commitment to continuously provide technical assistance, through capacity-building activities, to the to the Child Development Workers (CDWs) in the implementation of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD).
DSWD’s continuous provision of technical assistance to the ECCD implementers ensures that human development concerns of children are being addressed at early stage.
