The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VIII through the National Household Targeting System or Listahanan conducted a Data Privacy Act Orientation and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing, yesterday, August 24, 2021 at the municipal building of Palo, Leyte. This was represented by DSWD Field Office VIII Regional Director Grace Subong.

The municipalities that entered into memorandum of agreement with DSWD on the Listahanan data sharing were Palo, Leyte which was represented by Mayor Frances Ann Petilla and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer/Designated Data Protection Officer Anabelle Agner, Julita, Leyte which was represented by Mayor Percival Caña and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer/Designated Data Protection Officer Alma Permejo and Abuyog, Leyte which was represented by Mayor Lemuel Gin Traya and Administrative Aide I/Designated Data Officer Rina Bandalan.

The MOA is a requisite for Listahanan Data Sharing with stakeholders and partners who seek to have a list of poor households obtained from the Listahanan Database Information System.

Orientation on Salient Features of Data Privacy Act and Orientation on Salient Points of the Memorandum (MOA) was also conducted by the Project Development Officer IV/Regional Field Coordinator Leizel Astorga. The orientation aims to guide the local government units in managing and protecting the shared data of NHTS.

Compact discs containing the requested Listahanan data were distributed to the respective representatives per municipalities.

The activity was witnessed by DSWD NHTS staff, Policy And Plans Division Chief Ofelia Pagay and Planning Officer IV/DSWD FO VIII Designated Data Protection Officer Carol Gerilla, among others.

n her closing message, Director Grace Subong emphasized the significance of utilizing and maximizing the Listahanan Data to ensure the improvement of the well-being of the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged sectors. Director Subong also pointed out the importance of the DSWD’s collaboration with partners and stakeholders like the Local Government Units (LGUs). “We need to engage and partner because hindi kaya ng DSWD na mag-isa sa misyon which is to improve the well-being of our constituents,” she highlighted.
