The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council 8 (RJJWC) and the Local Government Unit of Catbalogan City, Samar have participated in the Training of Trainers (TOT) on the Formulation of Comprehensive Barangay Juvenile Intervention Program (CBJIP) at Mansion Garden Hotel, Subic, Zambales on July 11-15, 2022.

The JJWC and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) spearheaded said training to capacitate the participants on the Comprehensive Local Juvenile Intervention Program (CLJIP) using Theory of Change and Results-Based Management frameworks to guide the LGUs in developing their respective CBJIPs; and the Public Finance Module to help identify the possible sources of funds for CBJIP implementation.

Enacted on April 28, 2006, the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act requires the national, regional, and local government to develop, review and implement a three to five-year CLJIP to prevent juvenile delinquency and to rehabilitate, reintegrate and prevent reoffending of those who have come into conflict with the law.

Participants from Regions 3, 8, 10 and the National Capital Region have prepared and presented an action plan for the conduct of TOT to the provinces so the LGUs will be capacitated to formulate their own CBJIP.
