The DSWD Field Office VIII, through its Social Marketing Unit together with the KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office, conducted the Social Development Communicators Network Orientation on Community-Driven Development and DSWD Programs on 12 July 2024.
Attended by around 30 Information/Communication Officers and/or designated Public Information Officers all over the region, the said activity provided an avenue to convene the said officers to discuss the current direction of the field office in delivering latest, accurate, and timely information about the various programs and services of DSWD.
The SDCN, as supported by DSWD Field Office VIII Regional Director Grace Q. Subong, aimed to empower and organize a communications network in the region to sustain the promotion of Community-Driven Development (CDD) and strengthen LGU partnerships for the promotion, dissemination, and advocacy of DSWD programs and services.
This orientation activity is the first step towards forming a dedicated network of information officers to send DSWDβs message of empowerment to the communities we serve.
