The Region 8 (Eastern Visayas) Disaster Response Cluster convened on July 26, 2024, to strategize preparations for the typhoon season.
The meeting also discussed activities for National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2024, camp safety audit and roles of the Technical Working Group, harmonized reporting, and an update on the inventory of resources for disaster readiness.
DSWD, as the designated Vice Chair for Disaster Response, called for the meeting. It was represented by Assistant Regional Director for Operations Antonio R. Dolaota, who also presided over the meeting.
Present during the meeting were representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) RO VIII, Philippine National Police (PNP) RO VIII, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) RO VIII, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) RO VIII, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) RO VIII, National Food Authority, Philippine Information Agency, Philippine Red Cross, and Leyte Normal University.
