LOOK: 86 Pantawid beneficiaries from Limasawa, Southern Leyte received wages under DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program during the payout on January 13, 2025, at the town’s Municipal Covered Court.
These Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries spent 10 days cleaning or sweeping the streets in their respective barangays. Each beneficiary received ₱ 4050 each which immensely helped augment their daily needs. Arlene Batalon, 4Ps grantee who availed the TUPAD program said, “…ang TUPAD naghatag kanamo og additional nga income. Nakapalit kami pang panginhanglan para sa among pagkaon.”
Aside from the additional income support, Arlene expressed how the TUPAD fostered a spirit of cooperation and communal unity.
The government continues to implement programs and services such as the DSWD’s 4Ps and DOLE’s TUPAD to create opportunities for economic resilience among poor and marginalized families and communities.
