The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Eastern Visayas, conducted a series of consultation and orientation meetings in preparation for the 2025 implementation of Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) in the province of Samar.

Risk Resilency Program for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RRP-CCAM) technical staff led the meetings in Sta. Rita, Villareal and Catbalogan City, focusing on site selection and implementation strategies to ensure the project’s success.

Several key stakeholders joined the discussion, including Villareal Mayor Carlo Latorre, City and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (C/MSWDOs), City/Municipal Agriculture Officers (C/MAOs) and barangay officials of the above said municipalities.

Project LAWA at BINHI is set to empower more local communities by enhancing resilience and securing long-term solutions to water scarcity and agricultural sustainability in its continued implementation this year.
