The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8 conducted a three-day training on Logistics Management for twelve local government units (LGUs) in Northern Samar and Samar.
Thirty-two participants, composed of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) focals and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs) from participating LGUs, including Lapinig, Lope De Vega, Catarman, Palapag, Las Navas, San Jose, Lavezares, Laoang, and Mondragon from Northern Samar, as well as Tarangnan and Sta. Margarita from Samar took part in the said training.
Held in Tacloban City, the training aimed to enhance the LGUs’ capacity in handling and distributing resources, specifically on warehousing and transportation, to ensure efficient delivery of services during disasters and emergencies. The initiative is part of DSWD’s ongoing efforts to strengthen local disaster response and welfare services.
