The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 8 and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Culaba are working together to improve core shelters in Brgy. Binongto-an, ensuring safer and more resilient homes for disaster-affected families.
In a recent meeting, the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) technical staff, Mayor Humphrey Olimba, and other LGU staff, discussed plans to improve the housing units under the Core Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP). As part of the initiative, officials conducted a visual inspection and engaged with residents to assess their needs and identify necessary improvements.
Culaba was among the areas heavily affected by Typhoon Yolanda, with many families benefiting from CSAP. With the agency’s continued support, the project aims to provide stronger, disaster-resilient homes and improve the living conditions of its beneficiaries.
