This calendar year 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8 will allocate a total of Php3,498,084,000.00 to 143 Local Government Units (LGUs) for the implementation of the Social Pension Program in Eastern Visayas.
Under the One-Time Transfer of Funds (ToF) modality, the funds will be distributed to each LGU for the entire year, ensuring faster and more efficient delivery of stipend to indigent senior citizens. Currently, DSWD 8 and the LGUs are working together to process the necessary documents to facilitate the transfer of funds to each beneficiary.
A total of 291,507 beneficiaries will receive a Php 1,000.00 monthly stipend to support their daily and medical needs, with the pension being distributed on a quarterly basis.
Additionally, LGUs receiving their funds within this quarter are expected to conduct payouts only until March 27, 2025. Payouts will resume in the second quarter on May 11, 2025, due to the election ban for the upcoming national and local elections.
DSWD 8 is working closely with the LGUs to ensure the timely and efficient distribution of social pension funds to indigent senior citizens this year.
