As Women’s Month continues, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8 (DSWD-FO8) and the Leyte Normal University partnered to discuss Multi-Disciplinary Team-Gender Responsive Case Management and Trauma Informed Care with Social Work students, some of whom may soon take on the critical role of case managers for victim-survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).
Social workers are at the forefront of coordinating interventions, ensuring survivor-centered responses, and advocating for the rights of women and children. Strengthening their knowledge of gender-responsive and trauma-informed case management prepares them to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that victim-survivors receive holistic support, protection, and access to justice.
This initiative reflects the 2025 Women’s Month theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” by recognizing the vital role of future social workers in creating a more gender-sensitive and inclusive society for all.
