The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 8 and Leyte Normal University partnered to conduct a series of orientations for future social workers.

The sessions covered critical topics such as Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children, Trauma-Informed Care, and Understanding Trafficking in Persons with a focus on Victim-Centered Case Management.

These initiatives are part of DSWD’s broader advocacy campaign to raise awareness and build the capacity of future frontliners, particularly in supporting the Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons.

By engaging the academe, the Department aims to broaden awareness, build competencies, and promote a more proactive and survivor-centered response in social work practice.
