The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas started on Monday the 20-day learning sessions of Tara, Basa Tutoring Program.
In the region, the simultaneous rollout covers Samar province and the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc both in Leyte with a total target of 1,512 college students, 5,040 learners, and 5,040 parents.
Under the guidelines, each tutor will handle five incoming Grade 2 pupils for the reading tutorials while each YDW will carry out Nanay-Tatay sessions for 10 parents or guardians.
In return, the student-beneficiaries will receive a daily pay equivalent to the Regional Daily Minimum Wage for the 20-days learning sessions set between May 19 to June 13, 2025.
Meanwhile, parents or guardians will receive a daily allowance of Php 235. ###
