The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII kicked off the first-ever Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month celebration during its Monday Convocation on May 5.
This is in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 818, s. 2025, which declares May as EODB Month to promote efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly government service. The proclamation supports Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, which aims to simplify government processes, reduce red tape, and improve public service delivery.
The kick-off began with an activity where employees completed puzzles featuring Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) signage, which was followed by a brief overview of EODB and its importance.
Ms. Ann Ritzel Caragos, head of the Human Resource Management and Development Division (HRMDD), also shared how EODB has improved services at the field office. She said the initiative has helped both employees and clients, adding, “Because Angels in Red Vest deserve the best.”
Moreover, Regional Director Grace Subong encouraged and challenged DSWD Field Office VIII employees to consistently observe the principles of EODB and find ways to further improve processes across all offices
Lined-up activities for EODB Month celebration include re-orientation seminar on EODB, nationwide frontline service inspection, online poster-making and story reels contest, health and wellness day, online quiz bee, and culminating activity.
